I put a cricket in for my A.A.avicularia and he did not eat it, but I cant find it. Is there any way to make it come out like food? I don't want to leave it in case it would hurt my avic, Been watching for quite a while saw it once but it got away I'm not that good with my feeding tongs I guess

The spider will find it and eat it. That's what they do. Don't worry about it.
He hasn't eaten in 3 weeks, that's why I worry if he could be getting ready to molt? Putting up a lot of webbing lately ty 4 answering

I mean you could put a little slice of carrot in there, but Avics moult suspended in their webs and are unlikely to make contact with a loose cricket.

Personally, I'd get it out. I know avics tend to seal off their web, but not always, and I've seen crickets climb all up into my avic's web. If its been a while since the T ate, its possible to be in premolt, and the cricket can still pose a risk to the molting spider, especially if it stays in there for a few days and gets hungry.

I use tongs when feeding my Avic avic. First feeding try without tongs, cricket hid and I removed it. Second try the next day, the T quickly grabbed it from the tongs when she felt the antenna touch her

I would cup your T and search the enclosure for the cricket, if you have to remove stuff then so be it. Hopefully you'll find it or figure out how it got out of the enclosure. Then, since you have your T out, do a little cleaning and put it back in. If it isn't already molting, like on it's back and sealed up and stuff, then things should be fine to cup and do all that. Tarantula's are tougher than people give them credit for but having to worry about a cricket that could crawl up and kill your's while it's molting in the enclosure, I wouldn't risk it.

W/that specific information, that makes sense. Leaving out info, makes it seem like another thing. YW
You don't have to try to make me feel bad, you mistook what I said, no wonder no one wants to post on this site.

I'm pointing out some things based on your OP, and your subsequent reply, which was helpful to read I thought.

Does anyone else hum/sing “The Heat Is On” when cricket hunting?:troll::wacky: And it gets even more interesting when it is an OW enclosure!:playful::):angelic:
