haha I dont believe you Mark. {D
My room gets to 67-68F night and 69-70F day, but they seem to be pretty active and thet really do eat well. I'm sure they don't grow as fast as they could, but that dosen't bother me too much. :)

Now seriously...To keep them at 68F all the time...Its a bit cold.
Some specie just feed more often than others, but its a bit on the cold side.(depending on the specie, but for most American T's)
In the summer my room gets to about 75F night, and 80-82F day, so they get most of their growing done then, I currently can't afford to heat them year round, but will heat my A.genic when I plan to breed her.

Well you know, they are getting a bit of a difference in temps during day and night, and during the day you said they reach the 70's...
Besides, you have hungry specie!!! {D

TOTALLY - okay not that much, but pretty much - off topic...

But HOW do yall stand having it so cold in your houses?! Do you waddle around in parkas all the time?

Though, maybe it's just me... It's 75F in the living room where I am sitting and I have goosebumps and am debating on a sweatshirt LOL
I sit in 1 thermal vest, 2 thin hoodies and my coat half the time in winter cos when my house has been heated and gets warm and then the heat evaporates through the windows it can get so cold you see your breath in the air as you breathe or talk... It only takes maximum of one hour for my house to get that cold ......

Plus, I have some of my Ts on or near light fixtures, so most of them are probably higher than the ambient room temp. I do the best I can with what I have.

and yes.... when T's get cold they do get lethargic. I have had ample deliveries where the heat pack has expired before delivery and the T's were curled up so cold I thought they were dead. When they did move.... (OBT's, POKIES, H.MAC.... all adults) they were slower than a G. rosea in "chill mode" .......

From what I have seen, people in England, Whales, and that general area seem to keep their homes cooler than we do in the U.S. I wouldn't survive over there!

Well, we do have a guest room, but when my aunt comes to visit every September you'll have to sleep on the couch for a week. {D

No you don't have summers in your part of the country. WE have summers, though, here in southern Arizona. :D

WelshTan (or should I call you WhelshTan, now that you live in Whales?) - you have my deepest winter sympathy. I finally turned the heater on here last night because the house got down to 70 degrees F. I don't think people were designed to live in cold damp places like what you describe. Escape while you can!!

Id gladly trade places with you lol. I much prefer the cold and HATE heat. Here is Dallas it is 40F, and its already december! Thats just ridiculous, I can wear a T shirt and shorts year round here (maybe its the Norwegian blood?!). The summers here get over 100 and can just stay there :wall: :wall: :wall:

I like it warm and humid, I don't do dry heat. :p

If I could live anywhere in the U.S., I think Alabama would probably meet my criteria the closest.

I am sooooo jealous! Mt grandparents lived in Sierra Vista for years, and I gotta say, Arizona is my fave place in the world :D Im from British Columbia, but in Ontario for the last 9 yrs, and Im still not used to the -30 C crap we get here lol Luckily our house sits about 26C (around 80 F I believe, or just under) so my T's (and ball pythons) dont get too chilly :)

I wish temps outside would stay around 75-85s. It gets too cold and too hot, but at least when its hot I can get naked...

Sierra Vista isn't far from where I live. My wife and I spent some time this past summer on the military base near there (Fort Huachuca) photographing communal spiders.

But I understand what your region is like too. I've got relatives in Nova Scotia and used to spend time up there. As a kid I thought snow was great - now I realize it's best on post cards. My spiders (and other animals) and I are much happier here in the desert.

all this talk of summers. :( as i watch the rain tap against the window and rest my feet on the radiator so they don't fall off from the cold.

My Ts are fine though :D
