Hey, speaking of meat and Ts, I would like to bring up an interesting case here. I have a pal, Chanthay, who raises Ts in Thailand. Feeders are a bit hard to come by where she lives, but fish are very plentiful. She catches these little minnows in a jar and offers them up as feeders. The flapping of the fish catches the Ts attention, and after feeding, the Ts roll the bones and scales into a corner of their enclosure. In the years I saw her in the US, she did the same with feeder goldfish and minnows. I'm not sure how ideal fish are as feeders, but the Ts didn't complain and the idea certainly caught my attention!
Fish probably not good as a main diet. Most fish have very little nutrition-value

Yes they can, and while I wouldn't feed them that as a staple, it's a good bit of protein for them every couple weeks.

Yeah, tarantulas obviously don't eat chicken, turkey, or beef in the wild, but they also don't eat mealworms, wax worms, or roaches that live on a different continent. Like it or not, almost nothing that you're feeding them is "natural" in the sense that they eat it in the wild. They're opportunistic predators, meaning if something runs into them, and they feel it's not too big for them to overpower, they'll eat it. So long as it's fresh and parasite free there's no harm.
Very well said.

Big white mouse attacked the T back, but was a futile attack. for whatever reason the video wouldnt post so i put the screenshot. I feed them big ass mice but rarley.
Last time I fed mouse my t Wouldn’t eat it until it was dead. Pet store wouldn’t sell me furry mice either. So I’ll just stick to roaches were I can choose the size I want to feed. Pet supplies stopped carrying live mice. Has anyone actually got proof mice can kill Ts? I’ve never seen a mouse do anything but get crushed.

I wish i can show u the video, the mouse did attack the T back by biting and scratching but im sure it didnt hurt it. I never had a serious injury doing this, not even if the mouse is 4-5 times heavier.

Upload it to YouTube then post it here, I’ve fed mice although only 4 times. My biggest t just doesn’t like mice unless they’re dead. And it’s 8”. Roaches are my preferred food source but you cannot get them in Canada. You could breed super worms, or crickets.

Tarantulas digest food outside their body, Which is pretty cool.
But do you also feed them port? Today i fed mine pork for the first time
Get these feedings on camera how did you get the t to attack pork? Some of my Ts will eat a freshly dead roach others won’t.

I literally dropped it in there and it lunged at it and took it on my first attempt. I will try it again tomorrow and record it and post it here.

I’ve never seen a mouse hurt a t but the good thing about cubes of meat is they don’t fight back! They are carnivores yes and it would take a long study of feeding one or more Ts meat only to see if they thrive or not. Now I’ve lost Ts that got fed mice too a bad molt before but I don’t know if it was just a coincidence. T vagans.
