Actually, ive been experimenting with non-prey foods and egg is one of my success stories. it works best if the egg is cooked a bit first.
Yay! I'm glad to hear that someone has tried it and that it worked! Spiders need lots of protein, so eggs sounded logical. I've seen methods to scramble the egg inside the shell, to mix the white and yolk, so I might try that, and not boil it too hard.

Small pieces of chicken have been working too. Some people have even got spiders to eat fish flakes. finding an alternate food source is always a good thing in case your feeder connects fail.
I've tried with grilled chicken (tiny pieces from deep inside so there's no spices on it) and rolled the tiny piece with my fingers with a drop of water. The spider did nibble on it, but maybe he just drank the water. I guess raw chicken is better.

Hope you don't mind, I mentioned these foods in another post (yesterday I think) when someone had a sort of similar question to the one above.

I gave them small 1x3 mm pieces of boiled (and cooled) egg white, and the female loved it and spent a good 30 minutes nibbling on hers. The male came down close to his but didn't touch it. I poked it a little, but he didn't care and walked back up 10 minutes later. Maybe next time. :)
