Ay wazzup

so I have my OBT sling “maybe 1 inch” in a pickle jar with 3-4 inches of substrate. The ventilation is only around 7 holes on the jar lid because it’s glass and I don’t have the tools to drill more in.
The ground is pretty moist and I don’t want mold to grow, so if I leave the T on moist dirt will it just drink from there? The reason is, the water dish is a small bottle cap and whenever I fill it up with a spray bottle it gets onto the dirt causing the moist dirt..

Not unless it's really wet (which is probably too wet for an OBT).

Why not use a dropper to fill the dish?

Most of us have spray bottles that adjust, from wide spray pattern,to a stream. And,yes slings will take moisture from the substrate.
You don't need to soak all the substrate, just a small area.
As a last resort,go to Walgreens/Target,get a bulb syringe from any ear wax cleaning kit.Heck,go to the grocery store, and get a baster
from housewares. They may not have TP,but nobodys hoarding turkey basters, yet.

I like to use a kids medicine syringe. Like the 10ML that you use to draw tylenol out of the kids liquid. Just take a cup of water with me and suck it out of the cup and squirt it in the water dishes. Of course i use a new one that has never been used for medicine. I always ask the pharmacy for a couple extras when the kids have prescriptions.

I would suggest that instead of relying on wet substrate (what @Ungoliant said), put a pinch of sphagnum moss in a corner and wet it regularly. I use that method exclusively for watering slings.

Yes, slings can drink water from substrate.

I would keep the substrate dry. I’ve experienced that OBT slings are very, very hardy when it comes to moisture. Dry substrate makes maintenance and keeping easier. An alternative is dropping water onto its webbing. Or, as suggested, use a syringe, pipette, or any similar tool to water.

I prefer to use my tongue for this crucial task, with a piece of tissue.
Okay but I've kind of licked an Avic enclosure? I was trying to re-stick a plant to the glass and licked the suction cup without thinking--- got a mouth full of web.
