I have an emp. I brought home for x-mas break, and no tanks, I was wondering could I use a dish pan to keep it in, and could it climb out of it. It doesn't have a top, and my mom is a little freaked out about that. I just want to know can they climb rubber?

I've never heard of a dish pan that is rubber.

Scorpions can climb, they are great escape artists. From what I know for sure, is that in a glass aquarium, they can climb up via the silicon glove on the corners.

I would say that if the dish pan is plastic no they can't climb it, if it is some sort of rubber maybe they could grip that.

Also of note they can and will use their tails for extra reach, I've had them standing completely on their tail doing a glass dance for the top of my tank.

Just run out and buy a $2.00 gladware type container, poke some holes in it and throw some dirt in there. Presto! Instant scorpyhouse.

Scorpions can climb any material if it is rough enough.;)

But as long as that is smooth, no.

And like they said, it can use it's tail to elongate itself.

Yeah that GladWare stuff works great. Get a big flat one, shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. Great substitute for a 'real' tank.
