I'm looking into getting a couple of millipedes, but before I do, could someone please tell me whether or not they can be housed together?

I'm looking at getting a Giant African Black and a Tanzanian Red Leg...

As a side note, any ideas on what kind of millipede might be listed as a "red millipede"? I was thinking a Fire or a Red Banded...but I have no clue.

Thanks.

Faunya I just received a Millipede a week or two ago that was listed as a Red Millipede and was housed with an African Black so I ended up getting both and have them housed together. If you can find any info on them please pass it on to me also I haven't been able to find anything on red Millipede's?:8o But anyway heres a pic link of the little bugger tell me what ya think?

milli cohabitation

I would recommend keeping millipedes of the same species together. Putting different species together could result in a defensive secretion from them. Millipedes also come from a wide range of environments (drier, rain forest, etc) so housing should suit their place of orgin.

Housing Millies.........:0)

I have 4 different millies, a red, a black,
one with gold stripes(red legs)and another with
stripes and blonde legs. They all get along
just fine. The red and the black spend a lot
of time grooming each other. At least I think
that's what they're doing! :} If not I'll have mutant babies very soon.
I guess that would not be too bad, but they'd most likly be sterile.:(
