Length approximately 15 cm/5.9 inches. Location - Jerusalem. Just curious, never met such a majestic creature before. I just made a video trying not disturb it and let it go.

I really don't think so. I can't imagine A.gigas live in such an arid climate as Jerusalem. I can't help with a real ID though. Sorry.

I think from sub-saharan Africa downwards, almost certainly right down to S.Africa
