It didn't even eat the lizard, just gave it a slow agonizing death. SWEET!

Seems like solfugids are pretty tough arachnids. Doesn't seem like theres anything they wont subdue.

with the abundance of retards currently serving in the armed forces, this is nothing new. these videos are soooo plentiful on youtube and it's really pathetic that they wish to harm creatures, such as the lizard, like this. seems like they want the almighty camel spider to fight and kill literally anything.
hey man, i'm not excusing their behavior in any way, but ease up on callin our soldiers retards. they are across the world and putting their lives on the line every day.

hmmm, these threads seem to pop up a lot. more about the fighting though. i can't see the vid. did the solpugid eat the lizard, or just kill it?

and yes, solpugids are almighty ;)

Seriously man, you outdo yourself constantly with a statement more idiotic than the last.
i said "an abundance." sorry if i offend those soldiers that are honorable in the line of duty, but I'm afraid that number is dwindling.

why do I say this? because it's true. Due to our terrible government's inaction in the withdrawal of the troops, more and more of them become a product of their environment....bored, stupid, and completely useless. how many videos are uploaded to the web by these "honorable" men and women every day? i think i see hundreds of videos uploaded that show the inhumane torture and destruction of many of the regions' wildlife and domesticated animals.

(not to mention the fact that our own CIA/armed forces partake in waterboarding, rape, underhanded deals, and corruption. The US doesn't belong in the middle east. period. but that's another debate that's best left out of this discussion.)

anyone that tortures, force-feeds, treats an animal like a mere commodity, deserves to be called retarded. it's obvious what these soldiers were doing in the video. they were forcing a lizard to fight with a camel spider so they could see it. are you so deaf that you couldn't hear their laughs and yells of jest when the spider attacked the poor lizard?

I agree. I'm excessively grateful for the men and women in the armed forces, but just because they're over in Iraq, doesn't make them void of being dishonorable. And I'm sorry to say, solifugae aren't that almighty. I've seen a solpugid get pwned by a weta. {D

treats an animal like a mere commodity,
Do you buy or catch your inverts? If so, you do the EXACT same thing.

And in truth that is all inverts are, a living, non-thinking, commodity.

I AM in the military, and I DO take offense to this. DO NOT say this to a military member or a dependant in real life, they'd probably show what all our training is all about.

By the way, I'm a United States Air Force Air Traffic Controller. ATC is far from being retarded. Rethink your words next time.

Ask me if we had a vote on whether or not we go. Show me a member that'll be fighting the war and says he got to decide, and I'll show you a liar.

How many years have YOU served YOUR country? What have YOU contributed to the greater good? Personally, (Just stateside mind you), I've saved 6 lives (pilots), and ensured the safety of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people foreign and domestic, while they were traveling. The many times you've flown while YOU were on vacation with YOUR family, I was at work, serving YOU. But, I digress, I fight to make sure you can spew your ignorant views to others, and I'd have it no other way.

There will always be lots of idiots in any military. It's quite logical that the US's need for more soldiers will mean the standards might drop(it's an inevitable outcome). We have the same problem with our police force over here, but you can't tar everyone with the same brush. For instance we get police who are there for a power trip, or the type that want to make a genuine difference, both are well suited to a job of authority, I'd just rather be friends with the latter. :D

I wasn't really impressed with the way the "feeding" was carried out, but I was impressed with the spider. That thing is awesome. Reading up on them they are all really impressive.

I just found a rather bizzare article on camel spiders and the dangers they pose (or don't) to american troops.

http://www.hoax-slayer.com/camel-spider-hoax-email.html That picture is pretty cool.
I would've thought everyone had seen this for a hoax, by now.

Camel spiders and the "screaming", and the running-15-miles-an-hour, and the feasting on anesthetized human flesh, and the big-as-dinner-plates, etc. etc.

Also, not that I care to partake in a political discussion on a forum dedicated to arachnids, but if you're in the military at this point in time, you obviously believe in the mission. And, well...
