I wanted to swing by and let you guys know about this video. It's not a self promotion thing, as you can see if you go to our channel we have lots and lots of videos - but this particular one I thought would be of interest. I remember back when I got him people mentioned wishing they could actually see one eating a fish.

My guy has had 5 since I got him. Enjoy :)

He's a lot of fun - very cool guy (gal?) - his tunnel system is neat. But to film him you really gotta be cautious. That said - all the filming I've been doing, he's getting more comfortable with me.

We feed him normally what we feed the others. Dubias, crickets, mealworms - but fish are a treat and he loves them. He stands by the water, and as soon as he finished the one in this video, (which was pretty big!), he went right back to the water.

Maybe fish is just a light food. Never fills ME up at least! :p

You should see their tunnel systems! This dude does some awesome work. You gotta watch them pretty good tho and have tons of ventilation, as moist as they like it.

They are awesome. It's going to be tricky when he reaches full size though! He loves, loves loves his water, I don't think I can take it away.

Do you have a particular favorite baboon? I have a few of the classics. I'm curious how my golden will do as he gets bigger he's a pretty cool little dude. Same with couple others but, I also have pet holes that I never see anymore!

You stopped hurting my feelings long ago man - all you want to do is start and then win arguments, which ruins good threads. Yes, they do get used to godzilla sized predators. Just like they get used to things like, I dont know, waterfalls in the wild. They attack water that your pour in on instinct thinking its food, or they run from it. But once they investigate and live by it long enough, they are used to it.

Get over yourself man. It would be nice if you'd stop derailing every other thread I make. Please just move along and let others enjoy the footage and chatting with me if they wish.
Good. I never tried to.
Yeah, I doubt that. Interesting point about the water fall tho, I wonder how they do that in the wild, or if they do at all.

Aye, maybe because it stops moving???

Blah blah blah venoms the bad guy.

See, this is good discussion venom. When you talk like this, things are different. The problem is how abrasive you come off as with your different opinions. You don't HAVE to be the bad guy.

Don't get me wrong, because they are a pretty awesome species and that was great footage, but, given the same setup, I would bet there would be lots of species who would have gone fishing for dinner. I know that this species is infamous for submerging themselves for a considerable amount of time, but that isn't what they were doing.
I would even say that most species are capable, and would take advantage of, plucking a minnow out of a fairly shallow water source.
I bet I have a couple who would gladly do that.

Yeah I was thinking about that just last night, wondering how many would. I should have included footage of him going under, which he has :) I think several would. LP and my A. Seemani come to mind first. Would be interesting experiment.

This guy loves them though, and waits by the water. The others I question if they would do that vs just react to motion.

I would put my money on my Grammostola actaeon for sure. I bet she wouldn't even stop to put her goggles on. She is an absolute beast when it comes to food. I would bet that she would even go right in.
It would be a very interesting experiment, but not an easy one.

Awesome footage man! That was cool to see.
Getting more used to you filming? Lol I highly doubt that.
You need to shift your focus, did you miss the spider hunting down the fish?
