C. versicolor is burrowing?

I rehoused my Caribena versicolor (1 1/2 - 2 inch DLS) three days ago. They seemed fine at first, exploring the new enclosure and hanging out on the fake plants, but now they’ve started digging under the cork bark. I know tarantulas can take time to adjust to new environments but an arboreal burrowing seems really odd. I gave one side of the enclosure and extra misting in case they were looking for more moisture. Does anyone have any other ideas? Any help is really appreciated!

Here’s the whole enclosure, in case that helps (I’m planning on adding a magnetic water dish soon)

Quite odd indeed- need water dish

I like their design a bit, but their 4x4x6 is a massively huge rip off. For 5$ I get AMAC box that’s the same size, vs their 30$ price!

Be careful with misting, moist stuffy cages kill Avics. Not all Avics will drink from a dish or they do so, but not consistently.

I’ve raised a lot of Avics and rarely have I needed to mist any sling.

I'd be tempted to move those 3 leaves at the bottom to a higher spot off the cork bark overhanging the gap where it leans to the wall, like I've shown below, with your phito. That may encourage it to feel more secure up top and explore until it finds a spot to start webbing.

If you have more leaves you can just add those and leave the ground ones in place.

But as you've just rehoused it, it may take time to settle in. C versi as slings get quite spooked so I'm sure with time it'll be back to normal.

Thanks for the idea! I’ll definitely try to add more leaf coverage once they’ve had some more time to settle in

Thanks for the advice! The seller I got this one from did warn me about over misting so I was worried about that. But after I gave the enclosure an extra mist they came right out and drank. I’m adding a water dish ASAP
And yeah the tarantula cribs can be pricey but I love the way they look. I don’t have a ton of t’s so I don’t mind the price tag so much
