giant pink toe, the emporers don't live very long for some reason. well at least the ones I,ve had only live around a year and then mysteriously die

Depends on what you want. Do your research and then decide which (if either) suits you best. BTW, emps live for about seven years, but adults might be of any age and thus might live a week or five years. If you do go with the emperor, head over to the scorpion forum and read the advice that people have given on succesfuly maintaining forest scorpions.
