Breeding Q. Forgive me.

I can't understand why they won't mate. as you can see i put them in the same enclosure and used a board as a divider. so that the male can get accustomed to the females house but what aren't they hot enough to mate? is there any risks having the male bigger than the male? should i poke them? anyway i hope somebody has an idea. this is my first time to try and breed. thanks guys!

Sometimes it's just not meant to be. I had a pair of G. pulchra and you know it hurt to find out she wasn't interest in him even after a molt 3 months before. I tried everything but she just didn't want him. He's with 5 other females now so maybe one of them like him. Good luck.

Cheetah maybe you should try for talken did, he literally by hand put the female and make up to each other and I think they mated in his hand or something like that lol.

To breed and to mate as just a one of the event of breeding You need to be Your male and female prepared for breeding thus they willing to mate.
It is really so, that some species are not mate very soon after male and female being introducing to each other but this one is not of that kind.
Tell me Pestilence, why do You think Your tarantulas would obligue to mate or they definately will bred?
What do You do for this exactly?
Your last note gives the clue that female is not receptive but instead more acting aggressively towards the male.

Why in this world do people think that just to mate male and female is enough to breed tarantulas? Any logic???

Ok first off before your male will even think of starting to mate he has to be a mature male and need to be hooked out. Hooked out means he has these small hooks under his most front two legs (some Ts have them some dont I'm unsure about your species). Also before your T male will mate he has to make a sperm web and load this bulbs with sperm. Usually this looks like a tarantula doing something "wierd" on its back under some webbing. Did you see him do that BEFORE you decided to put them together for mating? If he is a mature male and you are sure the female has to be and adult female also and ready to breed. When is the last time your female molted? She may not be interested in breeding because she may have to molt soon. And also even if they did mate and you don't know what you are looking for if molts any time soon (assuming they mated) you will lose any sperm when she molts into her new body and you'll have to put them together again. what is the tempeture in the room you keep your tarantulas? when is the last time these two ate? Also take that board down and just let them roam around each other AFTER you make sure all the other stuff that i mentioned aboved has already happen. Something else I noticed is that enclosure doesnt look big all. it doesnt have to be big but you should try to put both their enclosures in a bigger one so he can go into her enclosure when he is ready to.

I have read that rosies are hard to mate. One of the reasons might be that the specimens need to have been going thru weather/seasonal cycles. Seasonal triggers may be needed for mating and/or sac production.

Yes of course the male has developed hooks and definitely i made sure he has spun a spermweb. and the female of course i think is mature enough for her size 4"+. its just that i don't know how it goes when they mate. i don't really know for sure how they act. and i was joking when i said i was going to poke them! really now..

ok thanks.. maybe thats it. i've just read some articles and threads that G.Roseas are breeadable on about that size 4"... but maybe shes not receptive because shes not ready?
