Hi! I have a pair of Grammostola iheringi that are getting ready for breeding but the breeding reports for these seem to be very scarce -- as in almost non-existent. I found only one thread from several years ago mentioning breeding G. iheringi but the questions remained mostly unanswered, except for the fact that they seem to be difficult to get sacks from and that they have a tendency to snack on the sacks they do drop.

Anyone who's been successful breeding these Ts and have any tips? :)

Check out Tom Moran's websiteI believe it's called Tom's big spiders he is very experienced having over 300 species is a long time keeper and is very familiar with breeding as well so I would definitely recommend checking out his website and asking as many questions as you need he's always happy to answer. I hope this helps.🙂

I haven’t paired them yet but I’ve paired rosea and tried actaeon but my female is a bit small. I’d check their weather patterns, but I believe them to be native to Entre Rios in coastal Bahia. I’d probably pair then drop the temp and spray them down to simulate the moist cooler winter then increase the temp and decrease the moisture a few months later.

I can't find any evidence of him having bred these guys but I'll send Tom an email anyway! Thanks! :D

That's what I'm planning to do if I can't find anyone who has successfully bred them. All trial and error I suppose! Thank you!

I did! The only valuable information I got out of it was a research paper where the scientists tried breeding them, but it sadly didn't help me much other than giving some temperature readings that could be useful. Breeding took place all year round though, as the males matures. All egg sacs their female(s) produced were either eaten or abandoned so we don't know the viability rate. But no one in the thread had any success with their attempts, as far as I'm aware. :(
