I am looking to get into breeding butterworms but I cannot seem to find information on how to raise them and breed them. Does anybody have any information on the husbandry and breeding process of butterworms? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I think they're irradiated so they won't be able to reproduce. They come from Chile and before they're exported they get nuked to kill off bacteria.

Go to www.herpcenter.com/breeding-feeder-insects/ and they'll have all the information you'll need about breeding just about every type of breeder insect, including Butterworms. However, as already mentioned in the previous post, Butterworms are irradiated prior to their importation into the U.S. The reason for this, is to prevent the larvae from pupating into the Chilean Moth, a potentially destructive, invasive species.

Nevertheless, the site is an indispensable resource. Truly.

Cheers
