Breeding Androctonus Gonetti

Hi, I just need your opinion on breeding gonetti, my pair always fight and doesn't even try to do the mating dance. Both of them are 7 instar.

Any suggestions?

Should I have them stay in the same enclosure?

you could try introducing the male to the female's enclosure, If she's not already in her own enclosure. If she's not, it might be stressing her out. Beautiful healthy scorpions by the way!

I already put them in the same enclosure with 2 hides, I'll be checking by the end of the week if there's progress. I put a few feeders just to avoid them eating each other.

If it's still don't work then I'll separate them again and try after a couple of weeks

in the wild the male goes looking for the female and she's already nice and comfy in her scrape/burrow etc. Sounds like she's stressed at being in unfamiliar surroundings so is anything but receptive. I'm not sure if this species is communal so it'll be interesting to see what happens keeping them in the one enclosure.

I understand, It's already their first night and nothing happened. This will be their 2nd night and all of the feeders that I've put are eaten already

Sometimes they do a bit of fighting/stinging before starting their dance, don't be too quick to separate them.
If your husbandry is correct everything should work. Make sure temperature is high enough.
Especially the female should be relaxed in the enclosure (no stress), avoid moving the enclosure, sudden bright lights, vibrations from things nearby the enclosure etc etc...

Everything is correct, I guess I'll wait for a few days then. I'll update this thread in a couple of days.

If housing is correct. And your 100% confident they are male and female then it's just a matter of being patient... dont remove her from the enclosure whatever mating attempts happen should be in HER enclosure. But this is only to help the male seek out the female quicker and sense that she is there. You can try placing them in semi larger enclosure with enough space for 2... add lots of flat surfaces... I've seen females get inpatient and break away from a male who takes too long and dances too much... the more flat surface the better... feed the female a large meal and then leave them m be for a week or 2 and then remove for a few weeks and reintroduce.... repeat that process... and hope for the best
