I know this genus is overall, a slow growing genus.

Are there any species within the genus that grow faster or slower than others, or are they all pretty much the same?

B albiceps grows extreamly slow

B hamorri grows very slow, but not really as slow as B albiceps

T vagans and T albopilosum grows medium fast to pretty fast in comparison to the 2 above

Yes I've noticed that. My T. albopilosum has flew past my true. B. smithi.

Based of my observations, and data, my albopilosum is growing ~1.5x faster.

I dunno exactly how much faster, but very much faster. Brachypelma and Tliltocatl grows slow overall but there are exeptions like those 2 i mentioned. There may be other speicies that grows at a generalky faster pace, but i cant come up with any. B sabulosum maybe?

Only one of these I've ever raised was a T. albopilosum freebie, which went from 1/4" to mature male in about three years. Not quick growth at all but not in the super slow category. Supposedly albo and vagans are on the faster growing end of this group, but I don't have a lot of personal experience to back that up.

Yes, i have not as much experience with Brachypelmas and Tliltocatl as some othrrs, but i have had maybe 5-6 speicies. The 2 fasters growers i have raised are T albos and T vagans for sure! And those 2 speicies i like the most, especially T vagans

My T Verdezi are growing at a much quicker rate than my smithi or auratum. So far the Verdezi has molted twice and my smithi and auratum have yet to molt. Got them both back in december

Well since the revision, I'll leave the albo's, vagans, verdezi, etc. out of the equation. Most Brachys can be slow growing, but B. auratum is a decent grower and I wouldn't label it slow like the B. hamorii, B. albiceps, or B. emilia. My two B. auratum's was 1/2'' a year ago and today one is 3'' and my second one around 2.5''-2.75'' which both are female. I don't know what people constitutes as slow growing, but I would put B. albiceps as the slowest growing Brachypelma in my collection. Over a year since I got three of them and two of them are 3/4'' and one is barely at 1''.

Thanks, I was definitely wondering about specifically brachypelma. Sounds like albiceps is the consensus slowest grower. I'm eyeing up another brachpelma, and I'm looking at either the auratum or the boehmei.

My emilia is 9 months old and 3.5" the guy i bought her from had slings from the same egg sac that were 1/4 her size. Said they had 2 out of that sac that were fast growers. She is on her back in molt as we speak. I expect her to gain 1/2" to 1" this molt. Her last molt was 4 months ago give or take a couple days. I am now keeping track of evey molt.

The emilia has finished molting and she looks like she put on a good 3/4". Hopefully she will come out of her burrow tomorrow so i can get a good look at her. I'd definitely say she is over 4" now just from what i can see through the side of her enclosure into her burrow.

This is based entirely on my own experience but B. albiceps are by far the slowest growers of the genus.

B. auratum, B. smithi and B. emilia are at the slower end of the spectrum.

B. boehmei, B. klaasi, and B. hamorii are a little bit faster.

Haven't had my baumgarteni long enough to say for sure.
