thank you for the answer , but male didn't have hook yetIf male is hooked out and has his male parts he is mature looks alright to me in pic
I'm sorry but this is a load of bollocks. sub adult males can be just as fat as females. Heck I have seen adult males fatter then females. Please don't use these "features" for sexing. Check for the presence of a bulbus at the end of the palp to see if a male is mature.Males are generally more slender and smaller even before maturity than females ESP the abdomen.
Every diagram I have seen of spider/T anatomy refers to them as the same thing.Fat in this case is referred to the abdomen or the size of the opisthosoma?
Where in my answer did I write "males NEVER can be just as fat as females" ?...Can you show me in my reply that I suggested, implied, or specifically wrote that males could never be as fat? -- No, you can't, because I didn't.I'm sorry but this is a load of junk. sub adult males can be just as fat as females. Heck I have seen adult males fatter then females.
Hahah..I thought that was weird..the opis for fat! I can't speak for others, but when I mention fat, I don't mean actual adipose tissue, I simply mean a change in size from smaller to larger!Lol I thought one thing and wrote a different one.
I rephrase: fat is referred to the carapace or the opisthosoma?
I'm fairly certain he was making a generalization, not saying all makes are more slender. And I know for a fact he wasn't implying you can sex a T by how slender/bulky it is.I'm sorry but this is a load of bollocks. sub adult males can be just as fat as females. No problema MacBaffo... I do the same in Italia!I am aware that i don't know a lot of things of English language so sometimes i have the doubt that some words have a synonym that i don't know. So i ask just in case![]()
Definitely no argument on my end. I was only re-stating the facts of what I wrote. I can't help it if Metallica didn't read my response more carefully.Ok a bit of argument going in this thread lol,
obviously you are very up tight about it??, cause i was making a joke, hence LOL at the end of my first sentence.Definitely no argument on my end. I was only re-stating the facts of what I wrote. I can't help it if Metallica didn't read my response more carefully.
However, I was only correcting metallica because being misquoted is inaccurate. Like I wrote above, I never said never, I wrote "generally".
Correcting someone when they are wrong, particularly when your own words are obviously there for all to read, is not arguing![]()
I knew you were, but I like to be clear that's all. Sometimes people can't always from text ya know?obviously you are very up tight about it??, cause i was making a joke, hence LOL at the end of my first sentence.
Thats cool bud :-D , I try and be clear about what I'm talking about to, but most of the time i'm open to suggestions cause i may have missed something, probably happens quite often in my case lolI knew you were, but I like to be clear that's all. Looks like a nice male keep on feeding him good I would think he is close to ultimate male good luck with the pairing
They look good. Just feed the male. He was just probably more recently through a molt and lost some weight from the endeavor. He should fatten up just fine after a few meals.
thanks for answer..Ok a bit of argument going in this thread lol, Males are more long legged then thair female counterparts, abdomen size can be varied for many reasons, the male is fully matured and doesn't want to eat over several months and has made a sperm web (endlessly looking for a female with no luck for a long time) i.e. smaller abdomen over time, but males can be just as fat as females especially when introduced to mating soon as possible (on feeding schedule), if hes not got hooks/bulbus pedipalps then he's not fully matured and not made a sperm web, until then don't introduce to the female, when he has then yes its a green light to introduce them.
