Ok Ok, I have really been caught in the spiders web so I went out and bout a 3rd T but again one pretty easy to care for.

Hopefully his tank is better suited than when I did the Resea's

As I just said on chat, I'm used to keeping fish, so I have always gone on the saying that bigger is better.

Bonny has just gave me some advise to give him a 2nd water dish and hide, which I am just about to do.

Ahh well, I will get it right one day.

That sounds like a good idea, that way the T is always near shelter/saftey and water. will more than likely be less stressful on the T.

Cute little bugger! As was already said, the tank looks awful big, but if it is finding the food alright, you probably don't have to worry about it. The rule of thumb for tank size is: 3x the tarantulas length for the length of the tank, 2
x its length for the width of the tank, and 2-2.5X its length for the distance between the lid and the substrate.

Those are the same enclosures I use! I love them! I can't tell the size of your sling but are you absolutely positive it can't fit out the ventilation slits at the top? I use those enclosures for my adult and juvies but my slings I put in deli cups because I worry about those slits being too big. Nice setup!

ys, i'd worry about that, too. the enclosure is totally fine for a b. boehmei - but yours is still very small, and slings fit through very small gaps. so maybe you give it another two molts or some such before putting it in there.

Sling is about an 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches in size if that helps.

Right I have made some changes.

I have put in the divider that came with the tank so have effectively made the tank smaller.

I'm a little concerned hes not eating, where the Rosea was starving when I had her.

Also is his bald backside normal for hair flickers?

I don't know, I myself don't put my Ts into those enclosures until they are about 2 1/2 - 3 inches. It just looks too close for comfort for me. Ts can squeeze through very small holes. Otherwise, I think your setup looks very nice. Your T is a cute little bugger, that's for sure!

lol, yes, bald butts are normal for this species. ALL b. boehmei i've ever had or met are avid hair flickers. so unless you leave it completely alone, it will have a more or less bald butt all of the time, unless it is freshly molted. and even if you leave it alone, it might flick hairs at you changing the water, at a breeze, at a shadow... ;)

the size of the devided tank is fine for the sling. it's a bit on the big side, but not too big for it to find food when it's hungry i think. still, i'd worry about it climbing the walls and squeezing through the vent holes. as exkrhla wrote: 'too close for comfort' why don't you wait another molt or two and put it in a deli cup for now?

The holes in the tank are only 2/3mm, no way with the sling get his carapace and abdomen through that, unless hes goes on a hot spin dry and shrinks.

Hes spending alone of time up on the sides of the tank, is this normal for B boehmei?
