I'm feeling the need to enlarge my t collection again and I can't make up my mind between these 2 I was searching for aphonopelma genus but there a little thin on the ground at the moment. So I think its down to these 2 both are fairly rare over here at a push I think I can find space for both but if I can't I need to choose which I'm finding very difficult

While I'm not sure about Europe atm, there has been a huge bloom of G. iheringi everywhere, I haven't seen many B.annitha though. As for personal opinion B.annitha just looks like B.smithi to me, which I'm sure there are differences on the patella etc but from a distance I would not be able to tell the difference between the two at first glance. G.iheringi on the other hand is very unique looking for its genus, sure it may look like a larger B.vegans but you take one look and you are pretty sure what it is. I may be partial as I just ordered a few iheringi, but I think both spiders look fantastic and probably grow at similar paces.

I've been wanting a b smithi since I got back into the hobby and 15 months later I still haven't gotten around to getting one I got side tracked last time by oligoxystre diamantinensis but I see the b annitha as an alternative so im gonna order a smithi aswell as these two why the hell not lol

Well there you go, decision made, I wasn't aware a Brachy was your ultimate goal. I wanted an iheringi for a while and just waited patiently until I had the money and BAM got them on sale for $ 42 each (may not be a big deal in the UK but they fetch $75-150 here) and seeing as after this year and maybe the next they will be sparse again. So I suggest just going for it, I waited too long to get an A. sp Kwitaria River and now all of the imported ones are snatched up. Don't be like me, a sad American with no green avic/insert your dream species.

This time around my goal is to get species that are on the rarer side, the whole smithi thing stems from when I got back into the hobby I couldn't make up my mind between b smithi or b Emilia I ended up with the latter and I knew I'd end up with a smithi aswell but as I said I kept getting side tracked by other species that a rarer so I was getting them as I knew I could get a smithi from just about anywhere anytime. I was checking out the big green avic the other week the breeder I use had them as juveniles and slings they are a pretty cool t I was a little tempted myself
