be patient.
even if it will molt or not, it will eat when it will be hungry again.

Slower the species, longer premolt time and stuff. Get used to it. It's nothing to worry about.

Just want to confirm that you received the sling on 2 June? What have you offered it to eat? While it does not appear to be in premolt, it has been my experience that this species will sometimes go through an extended premolt/refusing food period.

The little guy looks healthy enough. My albiceps went through a very long premolt, so you shouldn't have to worry. Just make sure you have water available to it and everything should work out.

In my experience, B. albiceps rarely eats in my presence. So I drop food in and leave it there a day or two. How long do you leave the food in for?

hi, yes I received the sling on 2 June. I feed my slings chopped meal worms. they are a bit to small for pin head crickets. I leave the food in for 2 days max. I try to keep the substrate moist so that he at least have water if he don't want to eat. I received my first T last year so I am new to the hobby, its the best hobby ever. I just want the best for my T.

Thanks for all the advise.

You should try pinhead crickets anyway. Just crush the head first. It will still move around for a while, and the movement is a good stimulation for the tarantula to hunt. Also, the container looks a little too moist. Another thing that may help is some sort of hide. For a t that small, a fake (silk) leaf or piece of one would work great. Even a small piece of corkboard or a sterilized piece of bark from outside would also work. These guys are ambush predators, and being out in the open can be stressfull.

yes, I have red the replies, I have placed a small hide in the enclosure and I do feed him pinhead crickets, but after I have I have smashed their heads they live for a few minutes and then die. I normally feed them just before I go to bed because I know they love to hunt when its dark.
Maybe I am just to worried about nothing.
