Every B.c.longicauda I've ever seen had those exact same body markings, complete with the connected pattern, which is also often found in CA BCI's. I've seen and handled many "Long-Tailed" Boas, though they are a bit too expensive for me, and that included the one which recently sold at a USARK auction, and it was exactly like this snake. Here's an anery specimen bred by Vin Russo(I do not even want to know how much it would be worth; just having his name associated with it would add a couple hundred dollars to its value): http://www.darwinnet.org/images/boa_vincent.jpg . You can see it has basically the same pattern, just a lack of all reddish pigment.

So you are pretty certain that she is a B.c.longicauda?
I see the resemblance in the picture you just offered.. :worship:

Im honestly not worried about her value on the market.. She wont be going anywhere.. :D She is to sweet.. :) I cant help but hold her as often as possible.. She is just so calm and a complete darlin..

Yes, I am. It's good that she has a decent home, finally. No animal deserves to be kept just for the amusement of someone who just enjoys seeing it kill things. If they'd kept her, eventually she would have sustained a life-threatening injury. Intelligent people would have stopped feeding live once she got bitten the first time, rather than put their animal's life in jeopardy for their own amusement.

Thank you for taking the time and helping me ID her! I really appreciate it.. :D
Oh.. She is not in the same enclosure they had her in..
She is now in a 4' long X 2' tall X 2" deep... One that I built for my sisters male bearded dragon.. She is in that until I can build her a new one.. I am thinking about building one that is 6'x2'x2'.. Would that be suitable for her when she is full grown?

*Edit* If a 6'x2'x2' enclosure is not big enough I can go larger.. Space is not going to be a problem..

Seems like too much red in it for me. Most lack a good deal of red (not the anery's just normal longicauda's)

I suspect its more of a cross than a pure longicauda the spear on the head looks off as well.

Heres a page with a good bit of pictures on it. http://www.cuttingedgeherp.com/boac...html?profile=boaconstrictorlongicauda&UID=102

babies, adults, even a "red phase" that doesnt have the same kind of red on it.

Both size cages is perfect for them.

A cage the size of the one you're thinking of building would be fine, even for a larger Boa(and these don't normally get as large as Colombians or BCC's), given that they will spend most of their time coiled up asleep at one end. I've got my big Colombian Pastel girl, who is pushing nine feet now, in a cage roughly that size, and it's got plenty of room for her. Unless she is hungry, or shedding her skin, or has to poop, she just pretty much stays in one spot.

Seen normal babies for 115 some 2footers for 150

Aneries are looking like 225-300ish.

I really dont think yours is a true longicauda

The spear on the head doesnt look right, the red on the tail looks off, the red on the side definetly looks off.

Just doesnt look like longicaudas ive seen.

Wow those new pics are stunning

Tommy, if she made you pick, she wasn't worth it ;)

I had an ex who didn't like my labrador, I told him one night "don't make me choose, you won't like the result" he pushed it, and now he's an ex. I don't mind if you aren't fond of any of my critters but I find it so ridiculous to get that bent out of shape over them. If you love someone at least tolerate their interests.

There, end of rant ;) Again, that is one gorgeous snake!

Thank you Shell.. :) There is a reason I am still building her a new enclosure.. ;) I don't like being told I can't have something if I am the one buying it.. *Shrug*

You do have a nice looking boa. It is not a BCL though. It appears to be a BCI of nicaragua. I could tell more if you post some shots of the belly.

I actually was about to update this thread.. I have recently confirmed its not a BCL.. I had someone look at it in person.. He even took some pictures & some pictures I had of her & showed her to someone he knows that only deals with boas.. Emailed me today & said she was a BCI of nicaragua..

No big worries.. But I can get some pictures of her belly still.. If you like?
