I just got 6 blue death feigning beetles in! I know they eat fresh veggies and dead insects so I was wondering if it would be okay to toss in roaches that died in my colonies? I don’t want to feed them to my scorpions but it would be great if they could still be useful!

I’d say certainly, assuming they’re relatively dry and didn’t die of disease etc. They definitely love some extra protein, I know mine have gone to town on dead crickets before.

oh it’s not disease or anything. It’s a very occasional one off thing. I just hate having to throw them away I feel like it’s a waste of food! I was also thinking I could prekill some, and I know some people get the freeze dried crickets and stuff.

Yep, they'll be totally fine with the dead dry roaches. I'm not sure how large your colony is or how often one dies, but freezing and drying a few to use later would be fine too. Mine used to love their proteins, grabbing a piece then running around with it until they found a "safe" spot to eat it.

I do exactly this, and my beetles do exactly that, lol

Asbolus seem to love dead invertebrates, and it may actually be a good thing to give them if you want to induce breeding, (larvae also really seem to like either dead or live invertebrate prey).

There’s two in there that are almost constantly mating with each other. I’ve read that they’re hard to breed though but I’d love to have more of them
