Widows are super easy to keep. Even more so than tarantulas IMO.

Yea, they are one of the more venomous widows. Red Widows are absolutely gorgeous. What else did you want to know?
That pretty much answered it, I see so many black widows where I'm from that a red one would pretty cool (minus the bite). I'll have to do a search for some pics...

No need...here ya go....

I also find the red widows harder to keep alive then the other spp. of widow I have owned. I wouldn't worry too much about a bite, they are really docile.

nice cant wait for my 4 females to reach that stage Spider-man 2.
Your quite right but the younger ones are of a good example one out of the 4 smallest reds i have died unexpectedly you no they werent even underfed unless that while i was gone my brother raided my room as ALWAYS but i find it unlikely he did. Do you use bedding etc back then for your reds? i dont and do well adjusted in the jars but those are the bigger ones :D

I didnt think Widows were communal.
They aren't, I separated them after the pic was taken. I sent Joe1968 2 of 'em.

Just fed a cricket to a widow. Pics aren't too great since I had to take them thru a deli cup.

Here is a pic of my Northern Widow (L variolus). Note the hourglass has a huge gap.

Also note the dorsal spots/stripes.
