I recently found a really small black widow that was on my granddads back porch. he was gonna kill her so i caught and hide her. ive read a lot and ive had pets spiders beforeso i know the basic's for caring for them but i was wondering on their diet, water situation, and if they need sunlight or if aritfical light works fine. the diet is my main and biggest concern. i fed her a small moth i caught but can she eat things like ants, worms, smaller spiders ect?
the picture is to show her size i know she can take some big prey but i dont know how big

Latrodectus build webs to catch prey in, which allows them to subdue and eat prey items that are much larger than they are. Add some sticks or other items to the enclosure to serve as anchor points for webbing, then you can drop just in about any prey item that won't fall right through the webbing and she'll wrap it up and eat it. They don't need a constant water source and get much of the needed hydration from their prey, but you might lightly mist the enclosure once a week or 2 so there are some droplets on the webbing for her to drink. I would avoid feeding wild caught prey, though, because you never know what kinds of chemicals or pesticides they may have been exposed to. Just pick up a some crickets from a local pet store when you need to feed her. You could also get a cup of appropriately sized mealworms and keep them in the fridge - they'll last for months.

Artificial light is fine - they're not like reptiles that need UV light to thrive.

Enjoy keeping this little beauty - they're fun spiders to work with.

Set up her enclosure like this and you'll be good to go. Spritz water every couple of weeks to supplement hydration and feed a decent prey item once a month or so
