Hi fellow birders, I've been a birder for over 30 years, since I was small. Always loved them. It's my favourite time of year at the moment when everything is singing and preparing to breed. There's nothing better than a full on dawn chorus 🙂

the migration is started here, but May is my favorite month of all. Thats when the migration is at its peak, and the most birds are around, where they won’t stay to nest.

so better my chances to observe birds i would have to travel hours to see.

i look forward to this seasons birding.

i got mealworms for the insectivores that i will put out on plateau style feeder im
building.

Migration is amazing, I saw my first swallows of the year today, so wonderful to think that they have travelled from Africa to the UK, amazing 🙂

in 2021, we had the visit of a Stellar’s sea eagle, Haliaeetus pelagicus. People traveled from the states to come see it. This eagle traveled very far to be here.

it is amazing how winds, combined with the birds aptitudes, brings them from far away lands.
