the former: Gary A. Polis | Stanford University Press | May 31, 1990
the latter: Philip Brownell | Oxford University Press USA | December 15, 2000

are these two books essentially the same in terms of scope, content and quality of research? is one recommended over the other? :?

thanks! :D

I can only speak for Gary A. Polis, its a great book! I purchased a hardcover reprint for 36 dollar from a link I found on this site. I have read the whole thing, just started and so far so good.

whoa? dated since 2000?
would you say there's any single authoritative text to replace them, or just numerous papers that have been published?

thanks! :D

I'd buy them. Most things are dated, but it is still a good read.

Both are excellent, but if you dont have either, get 'Biology of Scorpions', it is a more general text, whereas the other is a series of publications.

Hmm, didn't see that one. Will have to buy it sometime.

Although, in 7 years a lot of stuff can be discovered.
