The younger they are, the less time in between every molt. They should molt every couple weeks when younger, and the time between each molt will slowly get longer as they get bigger. :)

I think I'm going to go with some hissers, because they're cheaper, and I think more what I want. My only concern would be temperature. Apparently they won't breed at room temperature? (Although I suppose I could just avoid this completely by seeing if I can get three males.) Also, would they do okay at a little below room temp? (I keep all of the bugs in my basement, which stays fairly cool- about 70 degrees if I had to guess.
If your room temperature is anything like mine, you might be able to end up with babies. Back when I bred them as a young teen years ago, (started to get to that "overran with nymphs point") I had no supplemental heating and kept them in a tub in my closet. Of course, I keep my room at somewhere in the high 70's range normally (76 - 78) because I myself may be a reptile. You'll probably be able to slow their growth at 70, and certainly won't have much if anything come out of it if they tried breeding. Still, I'd recommend you just get males only and supplement heating. High temps = high activity, and considering you'd have just males, watching them get in ramming matches would be pretty entertaining. As a bonus, males are also usually more brightly colored.

I keep a group of hisser and find they give me babies about once a year in the height of summer when the house really heats up. The rest of the time the room stays in mid to low seventies and curbs their population.

If you've got mixed genders, take baby precautions, but seeing how small yours are, take baby precautions anyway. They are escape masters and will get out given the opportunity.

They have almost escaped a few times, but I caught them and put them back in their container. I now have Vaseline along the rim of their container, and keep a few objects on top of the lid to weigh it down. Hope this contains them, or my parents will not be pleased;)
