this was 1 of my favorite spiders.
she had a cyst on her abdomin and molted 2 times fine without it going away.
but not this time.

don't look so good here

where she molted (notice where she bled out?)

a few shots of the cyst

and the molt (do you see where the cyst was?)

i was going to try to save her. she was drinking water that i put on her mouth. but she had to go in the freezer.

she used to look like this

Awww, that really stinks. That black stuff probably came from the cyst itself..? :(

Aww man, I'm sorry. She was a big, gorgeous girl.

My big girl (H. schmidti also) molted and now has a lump on the top of her abdomen. Its small but its there. I feed her sparingly, hopefully it'll go away in time. I really hope mine doesn't meet a similar fate.

These types of things just suck :(

hers also started as a small bump, then molted and it looked like a scab, then this happened....hopefully things are better for your girl

i'm not too sure myself. it dosen't look to be part of the old molt. i really don't know where that ""tail"" came from
