I'm just about to rehouse my a.avic (have it in a tank with a mesh lid in the front) to a container so I can add some cross ventilation, but now comes where I get confused - if I removed the hygro and forget about achieving the "perfect moisture", what is the proper way to make sure my a. avic is enjoying her environment? Do you mis the substrate one a week at least? or just let the water evaporate from the water bowl?
Avics need dry substrate, cross vents, water dish, and a climbing piece and some leaves to anchor.... i think if you get an acrylic lid and drill a bunch of holes in it, your spider will thrive.

I'm 99.9% sure that poor Avic is going to die if it isn't already dead. I suggest if you decide to get another T that you get a good hardy terrestrial that is way more forgiving of poor husbandry or husbandry errors. Avics arent' hard, but they are not that forgiving.

I would get a Brachypelma genus, such as B. smithi or B. emilia for example.

If however you are determined to try again with an Avic I suggest you do a considerable amount of research, ie ask questions in the forum here on Avics, and more importantly SEARCH on google or via the forum for answers. Google indexes the forum so you may still search the forum here via google. Do all of this BEFORE you purchase the next one.

If it was thriving, it sure would be a pretty T.

I agree, it's most likely dead. But with that said @riinei any updates?
