No I know I appreciate it. 🥰 I’m relieved that I was able to fix the situation, definitely going to put them in some sort of travel tub even on short adventures from now on.. lol

Here she is, her name is Aria

Sorry for the little rant, I just hate when people immediately act like I’m not self aware that this situation is my fault and I could’ve prevented it had I prepared better for something like that to happen. I don’t need anyone else to tell me that because im smart enough to realize that on my own
They piled up on you pretty good. Sorry about that. Just FYI, we're not all quick to judge here. Unless I missed it, I'm not real clear how you were able to get the snake to come back out. Can we get some details?

Yes they did pile on her pretty good, rightly so, some were not harsh enough.
To admit that she was driving around with a snake wrapped around her neck, bloody irresponsible.
Having something escape from a container whilst driving is one thing, to flaunt the fact of driving around, even a short journey, with the snake around your neck is normal and why do people react harshly - words fail me.
In the UK you would have been stopped and prosecuted, and the snake confiscated.

I saw a similar scenario on a wildlife show once. This reptile scientist was collecting tropical snakes and secretly keeping them in his hotel room. I'm not sure why. Maybe to breed endangered species and reintroduce them to the wild. Anyway, it got really hot, so he filled the sink with cold water and gave the snakes a bath. Well, you know those little overflow drain holes that sinks have? That's right. I perfect hiding place. The hotel staff ended up breaking the sink open to retrieve the snake, and the scientist got kicked out of the hotel. So you see, even experts screw up every now and then.

I was intending on just taking her to the petstore with me around my neck, it’s not even a five minute drive there so I figured there would be no harm in having her on my neck for the short adventure.
Ah okay. I was wondering whether it was an escape or what, that clarifies that then. That's about the length of drive we had with the ball python escape too. The chaos they can create in a very short time is astounding.

I'm glad you got them back okay and without having to tear the car apart as well.

Okay I get I was irresponsible, she wasn’t in the vent, she was right tucked high up under the passenger seat.
Could have used her in the rescue rig our station had. On several occasions I was asked by ride alongs why it smelled like a laundromat in the cab. The explanation I was given was a hamster had got loose, crawled up under the passenger seat and died. Somebody had the bright idea of shoving a sliced open box of laundry detergent under the seat to cover up the odor. Nobody could explain why a hamster was in a police vehicle in the first place.
