B. vagans

Hi all, im getting a B.vagans and a green bottle blue and a chaco in my next order. The only one i know little about is the B.vagans. Can anyone fill me in on their temperment and anything to look out for? Do i set them up like all other brachys? I assume they are docile because of their genus. All info on this species appreciated!

Cool pic.

Keep the B. Vagans like any other Brachypelma. They are pretty docile too, ideal beginner spider.

The first place that I visit to see pictures of t's is Rick West's website birdspiders.com.

I have it bookmarked to open up to species listings. It is ever growing, so if there isn't something that you want to see one day, it will probably be there eventually. Same goes for not so great pictures. Eventually, there will probably be a better picture.

Anyways, here is a direct link to a picture of a B. vagans:

and another:

They are cool t's.

I've found B. vagans to be one of the more enthusiastic burrowers in the genus Brachyplema. All the ones I've owned have been perfectly docile, but they have the reputation of being one of the more iffy Brachypelma temperament-wise--see the Schultz's description of Duchess in The Tarantula Keeper's Guide. They are excellent eaters, especially when young, and quick growing for Brachypelma. I had a female mature out in about a year and a half from a 3/4" sling, and 2 males mature out in less than a year from 1/2" slings.
