Heh, pretty funny about weed. In Sweden it isn't even socially accepted in most places, but here in Oz it's very much the opposite. Have yet to see a party where no one sits with joints, bongs, or 'gravity bongs' . It seems that's almost like it is in the States, at least in some places ?

LOL...thats the first thing I thought of as well. You should see the plants in my Emp cage...it looks like a bundle of Jane. Isn't it a little harsh, though, to tease your T with plastic? BIG MEANIE!

i thought it kinda looked like weed also (only a few leaves short of cannibis).....
as far as the substrate could that be pearlite??
i know some potting soil has pearlite mixed in.....(white styrofoam balls that are NOT fertilizer)????

The substrate is 2 parts super high quality potting soil with NO FERTILIZERS and 1 part vermiculite. The soil had a little vermiculte in it already.
