b. lateralis too fast for young scolopendra?

hi,

i was wondering if anyone else has had issues with small (like 2") scolopendra pedelings being unable to catch lateralis nymphs because lateralis move too damn fast?
basically, i had a 2" s. subspinipes that didn't eat for a month, continuously had a lateralis nymph with it, then i decided to crush the nymph, and it went for it immediately.

scolos are not very good hunters, all things considered. i pretty much headcrush/wound all the roaches i feed them

i think the lateralis get fast the soonest as temps go from "winter" levels up to summer levels. i always have an annoying period of adjustment where i am not quite up to their speed for a while

good to know i don't have a specifically gimpy pede on my hands!
i guess as soon as it gets a bit bigger i'll switch to a larger and slower feeder species! anyways, thanks for the info...
