I just moved my B.boehmi to a new cage. It had never really flicked hairs before, this time it went into hair flicking mode like i,ve never seen before. It was funny to watch really.
It didnt really get me, only a bit on the knuckles but it does itch a bit.
Does any body elses boehmi flick hairs like a good un?

Chid.

my 5.5" boehmei will flick hairs at the crickets i put into her enclosure she's pretty spastic. but she's beautiful anyway.

my boehmei is the only tarantula whose hairs have irritated my skin. she got me once about a year ago, and occasionally the place where she got me (on the inside of my middle finger) will get bumpy and itchy.

IME, the bohemis are the worst for causing irritation from their urticating hairs. I hate to have to move their enclosures or to disturb them as they will start kicking like crazy. every adult male I have had ended up with a bald abdomen, they get so bald there are no hairs left to kick it seems like!
