My scorpion been chillin under his/her hide for a month now the substrate is about 2-3" deep and moistened thoroughly. He hasn't eaten in 3 weeks and I'm curious to know if he/she is about to molt

Probably. Should come out in due time, they really don't starve. As long as nothing has squashed it, you'll most likely see a brand new molt and a great looking scorp. Btw, what soecies and size?

Some scorps just really like chilling out for long periods of time in their hides, nothing to overall worry about. I had 3 a.australis's that i wouldent see for over a month, also had 1 l. quinquestriatus that was so reclusive that seeing her for 5mins once every 60 days was a treat! All of the scorps mentioned above all are heathly and to my knowledge are still alive today (though not in my current possession). I find that overall scorpions vary with individual behaviour between scorp to scorp.

What species are we talking about here? That is crucial information for us to know.
