I agree with @viper69 I had 1 of these for a little over a year and it moulted once despite eating on a regular basis. I sold mine on to someone else I know who adores Avics, sadly it died around 10 months later I guess this addressed one of the rumours I'd heard that they were a touch fragile when small.
The other rumour is like viper said they are meant to get large really large (7-8") for an Avic but I've not seen any evidence of this.
I used the money from the sale of this and an Avic sp pucallpa for an Avic braunshauseni (this is also meant to get large but we'll see)
I’ve owned the Goliath before, large but not what you’d think. I think variegata can get larger.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for 1 seeing as it's been about 18 months since my last addition. I'm really tempted to get another Avic sp kwitara but I don't wanna add another fragile sling because I'm heading to Thailand in the new year for a few weeks and I just know it'll probably die while imI away

I have contacted TSS to ask if any of the S/A Kwitara are sexed females. If so I'll order one.

I’ll take plenty of photos when she arrives.

I haven’t seen this species available before so don’t wait too long before you decide if you want it or not.
TSS used to get them on a regular annual basis, but this is the first time they've had them in a few years. Another stunning one is A. variegata (ex 'amazonica')- metallic ink blue with a plum red, black-tipped abdomen, & covered in silver-tipped hairs. It is also the largest known Avic. Again, TSS used to get A. variegata every year until a few years ago, but the only recent ones were slings.

Why do you do this? Why are there these threads? :arghh:. I looked them up, then I checked the German tarantula ads... There is actually someone offering a female and I want it but it's 70 Euro and I shouldn't be buying any more spiders at the moment... and this is really frustrating :penguin:. I love green spiders.

@mmcg - buy it. 49 pound is rather cheap when it's 70 Euro around here.
(cue raspy, deep voice) Come @boina, give in to the dark side...

She arrived today. She’s so gentle. So happy I got this species.
She’s already lulled you into the false sense of security, then you’ll wake up one morning and there will be the threat pose, dripping venom, running, and screaming... Look at her! You can tell she’s spawn of demons.

Just here to say I am so jealous! Love Avics, but my research shows this species hasn't been available state side for years :( hopefully that changes soon ^_^

Congrats and enjoy, she is amazing!
That’s a shame. I’m trying to get a hold of some species on my wish list sooner rather than later, because I don’t know how long they’ll be available haha.

Chilobrachys sp electric blue is next.

I bought mine as a A. cf Metallica. Her name is Luna. She is 3 and a half inches right now I think.

Great shot. Mine is easily one of my favourite spiders now.
Thank you, yes they are really great spiders and my favorite species also.
A few minutes ago i just clean her enclosure, when i open the lid and start to work, she very calm and slowly went out of her enclosure and sit and wait on the table. When i finished, i just litlle pushed her and she come back to her terrarium, that i called a good spider. :-D
