Does anyone have one of these?

TSS in the UK are selling an AF for £47 and I'm tempted.

Any photos would be appreciated. Are they really as green as I hope?

Why do you do this? Why are there these threads? :arghh:. I looked them up, then I checked the German tarantula ads... There is actually someone offering a female and I want it but it's 70 Euro and I shouldn't be buying any more spiders at the moment... and this is really frustrating :penguin:. I love green spiders.

@mmcg - buy it. 49 pound is rather cheap when it's 70 Euro around here.

I've wanted one of these for years, and I legitimately dislike the genus Avicularia. That tells you how gorgeous these spiders are. Yes, they are as green as what you see in pictures. I've only seen two before here in the States, and they were ridiculously priced. Hopefully they are cheaper in the UK.

They have unsexed juveniles and sub adults too, but I went for the AF. She will arrive on Wednesday!

Please post some pics I've been going back and forth on whether to buy or not & if I want a pair.

I’ll take plenty of photos when she arrives.

I haven’t seen this species available before so don’t wait too long before you decide if you want it or not.

Something to think about with slings...The people I know that have raised them all described them as some of the slowest growing slings they had ever raised. They are beautiful and quite uncommon. If I recall correctly, they also get fairly large for an Avic.

@viper69 has a fondness for this species.

I owned 2 slings, imports. They were the slowest growing Avic I've ever owned. I would describe their rate as near glacial. I kept them at 70-75F constant, fed on crickets as I did all my other Ts. In the end they both died at only 2" in size, with prob about 3 yrs of ownership. I had them when they were about 0.5-.75" DLS. They died one year apart from each other, just after they both turned aqua-green.

It's a very rarely seen Avic. I've read reports of AFs reaching 8", but the woman never posted pic. This was in the UK. By all accounts I've seen, and there aren't many, they are supposed to get large. They look like sp metallica, but greenish.

Supposedly someone hatched out a sac here in the USA some years ago, could never track down the source. And never saw any owners of these on the forum. So I'm not sure how true the story is, but I don't have reason to doubt the person who contacted me.

Do you still have photos of the two you kept? Would love to see them if possible.

I agree with @viper69 I had 1 of these for a little over a year and it moulted once despite eating on a regular basis. I sold mine on to someone else I know who adores Avics, sadly it died around 10 months later I guess this addressed one of the rumours I'd heard that they were a touch fragile when small.
The other rumour is like viper said they are meant to get large really large (7-8") for an Avic but I've not seen any evidence of this.
I used the money from the sale of this and an Avic sp pucallpa for an Avic braunshauseni (this is also meant to get large but we'll see)
