Hello, I am torn between Poecilotheria metallica and Avicularia metallica. Which one is easier to care for? I don't want the spider to die. I have average experience.

They have been changed to Avicularia avicularia.

I'd browse the forum for keeping tips, although I do recommend Avicularia avicularia for beginners.

İm gonna decide between xl adult poecilotheria metallica between sub adult avicularia avicularia. My friends told me Avicularia avicularia is harder for air circulation

I just linked a guide, should try reading it before posting that...

Do you have experience with keeping fast tarantulas? Pokies could MOVE when they want to.

Yes, I do have experience; I have kept an Ornata and İrminia before.
But as I said, I don't want the animal to die in my care.
Still, I also find Avicularia avicularia very beautiful, so I'm really torn between them.

A lot of the Avicularia metallica found at reptile expos are wild caught, and around $20-$40 bucks for a juvie. If you have a reptile expo near you, check it out. Make sure to read the guide I linked for housing options, it has all of that information in there.

New World Charisma Vs Old World Class,
Both are Charming,
A.acicularia are usually less expensive.
Research and choose well.
Good Luck,

P. Metallica all day. My girl sits out in the open all the time. Adults are forgiving in terms of care. You can actually see the full colors without an LED light. Of my many pokies, the metallica and rufilata have been a breeze to work with.

Imho p mets are overrated, if you want a pokie get a rufilata…can’t go wrong with a green spider. However, I’m gonna recommend avicularia bc pokies are a bit underwhelming overall

I agree, Poecilotheria is a bit overrated, but there's no denying how beautiful their colors are. But the little "toe pads" and the blue color of the Avicularia are absolutely beautiful.

If you’re worried about the animal dying, get an older one. That’s what I did with my P. Metallica because even though I’ve had good luck with Pokie slings, it’s a pricey spider that’s not easy to replace. If you have experience and can swing it, just get both. No point in trying to decide if you really want both.

Ignore what I said😂 I just realized you chose the Avicularia. You’re gonna love it, those pink toe bean havers are the best!
