My two A. veriscolor spiderlings aren't big enough to weigh in on temperament, but my big A. avic is an absolute love. Very calm and has never given me any issues. She has a huge web canopy in her enclosure. She just moulted today and I was able to confirm that she is female. I would have been heartbroken if she had been male because she is about four years old already.

Avic avic vs. versicolor....As slings, versicolor are better eaters, and throughout life, faster growers...versi is also a little more flighty and can even be a little defensive at times, avic avic are pretty laid back as mentioned. As slings they both web little canopies and tubes, but as adults, avic avic often only webs when its nearing a molt (or laying a sac), whereas the versi will keep a web home and constantly re-build it. My experience is that as adults, they are both very good eaters, and both wonderful ts...versi is just more  with those fluorescent colors.

Both are kept the same...throughout life.

Aww the artist avic...love the look of that kangaroo she drew.:astonished:

Psalmo's are the best:cool:

But avics aren't too far behind...I wish there were as many Psalmopeous species as there are Avicularia species.
Yeah she is a lovely girl. I will keep that pic forever. <3 Hehe
Mmm yes it would be nice if there were much more psalmos just like avics <3

I dont own a Avic Avic but I do have a 4 year old Female Versi, she can be skittish and has given several threat poses in my ownership! (usually when its feeding time and the tongs go in!) She spends most her time in her 'web bed' tube at the top of the viv but I find her exploring most late nights and early mornings :)

Fresh new outfit on, out for a wander at 5am this morning :) versi1.JPG

I have an adult A.avic. I'd say she's really sweet, but that's human emotions projecting on it. She's extremely docile. Wgen i remove the front glass to do maintenance, she just sits there, no reaction. Last time i has a bit of difficulty getting a cricket out, but she didn't even react to the disturbance that was me.

I would also categorize my A. avics as sweet. Not to say that they are cuddly or anything and they can still throw the occasion unexpected hissy fit, but most of the time mine do exactly what yours does.

I have a versicolor and an A. metallica. Thinking about getting a P. cambridgei or a pulcher, which would be better to start with?
P. cambridgei Possibly the best t to own overall (yeah, just my opinion, but theyre darn cool in every way.
