So I noticed that the last time my Avic molted (1/12th), two of her front legs were a bit misshaped from being stuck in a molt. She had mobility issues at first, but once she got herself free from the molt, no trouble eating, exploring, or drinking. Today (4/17th), I noticed she’s in the process of a molt, or finished molting? She looks super fresh, up-right, she has her legs balled up (not in a death curl), but her front legs seem to be stuck again.
I don’t think she is fully finished molting, and I do think she has at least got her fangs, back legs, and abdomen out. But I’m just a bit worried if she’ll make it out okay, considering this seems to be her second bad molt in a row. Any suggestions? I know biggest thing is to wait and to let her be, but in the case she begins to harden, is there any warning signs I should be looking for that she’s suffering?
I refilled her water dish, making sure to overflow it and dampen a bit of her moss and substrate. I also sprinkled some water onto her web near her. Other than that, I completely am leaving her alone.
Here’s pictures for reference (yes, she is due for an enclosure update, waiting to move in 2 weeks to get her rehomed), I know it is a bit hard to see. She loves her web tunnels and she built this one just before her molt.
) She is essentially sitting on top of her molt, with (hopefully) only her front legs stuck. Again, doesn’t seem like a death curl.
