I'm sure you are. I didn't originally set it up as a trapdoor because I had no idea what it was. (not that I'm too clear on it now either. ;))
Since, I have given it more depth and so on to encourage burrowing...which it still hasn't done yet. :rolleyes:

Mine is in a small size pet pal with two inches of packed peat moss as substrate and a little water dish that I suspect it never uses, and that's it. I was actually really surprised when it dug the trapdoor burrow because up until then I hadn't taken a close enough look at it to realise it wasn't a theraphosid. Once it did that, I thought of the two known theraphosids that do make trapdoor burrows but after examining the spider closely I realised it wasn't a theraphosid. I've concluded mine is a barychelid because it resembles a theraphosid in some respects, can climb glass, but has short spinneretts and has the whole trapdoor thing going on.
