Asian Forest or "Giant" Asian Forest; Is there a difference?

I was just wondering, because I see this all the time, is there a species/biological difference between your run-of-the-mill Asian Forest Scorpion and a "Giant" Asian forest scorpion(Heterometrus Petersii)? I see both for sale all the time and was wondering if the Giant is actually a larger species or it's just the same thing being called a different name due to its large size...

Might just be labeling, most Asian forest scorpions almost look the same to an untrained eye. The largest species I believe is the H. swammerdami.

Thanks for the reply. I was just curious because in my searches to buy/add to my collection I've seen so many different scientific names that are all umbrella'd under the same "Asian Forest Scorpion" common name. H. Petersii, H. Spinifer, and H. longimanus just to name a few. All of those are either Asian Forest Scorpions or GIANT Asian forest scorpions...hence the confusion.

Yes, that's why labeling them using common names add to the confusion. And might accidentally lead to hybridization.

H. laoticus and H. cyaneus are sometimes termed as AFS as well. Common name sucks.
