Ben, are these the C. gracilis that you had before?, if so, you can offer the mother crushed crickets, but this species will sometimes not feed till the young are 2nd instar and beginning to leave.

Just cover the tank and dont touch it for a week. Then go back and check on things. My C. Vitattus are just starting to come off mommas back. They are only 6 days old.

Make sure to maintain the same enviroment that you have been keeping. Dont change anything in the tank in order to keep mommos stress down.

Congrats and best of luck.

Why is it eating its babies? I just dont get it.... I mean i've been kinda over feeding it but why would that make it eat its own babies?

Of course, it might be some form of stress, what are the tank conditions?.

Woah, psycic? I think that might have been a problem now I never thought loud music would stress the mother out. As for food I have plenty of crickets in there now, should I be worried about the crickets trying to eat the babys? Thanks a million for the advice.

The crix can be causing a lot of stress for her too, not to mention munchin on some of your babies! Crix will eat anything that moves or dont move!

It's not unheard of for adult rickets to cause serious injuries to newborn scorps. Remember crickets are canabals and they will eat baby scorps too if given the chance!

On the stress thing ... my emp dropped 8 newborns on Sunday and a 9th last night. My whole family are fascinated and are creeping around like mice when they are upstairs so as not to cause any vibrations {D

Wait until they have had thier first moult and leave mum of thier own accord. Don't try to forcibly seperate them.
