you sure? to elaborate, this topic is about people who put their pets into harmful situations which many people here would consider abuse. The question is why would someone do that?

My first statement was referring to human nature, or the at least how we operate. We are abusive not only to animals, but eachother. People will kill and hurt other people for fun, how can you wonder why someone would do it to an invert.

The answer is simple. People are stupid creatures.

It shouldn't take a detailed explanation to understand that.

I would absolutely be upset if it was a scorpion. I used to get so mad back in elementary when this idiot little "popular" girl pulled the wings off of ladybugs because she thought it was "cool". I get mad when I see any animal/bug/etc mistreated, and I think I can safely speak for all of us here. Well, most of us anyway....

One of the many reasons I do not like IQ tests...they don't take into account other factors.

That's an invalid argument. They've taken a conclusion made in the 1300s which has been proven false with (blare trumpets) science and using it to refute an argument they simply don't like for no other reason than because it pinches their intellectual balls...what I refer to as a 'philosophical wedgie'. You try to stretch an assumption too far, and eventually it just becomes uncomfortable.

Here's a really dumbed down version of that argument:

It's an idiotic argument from it's very core. You'll accept certian observations up to a point but when those observations start to make you uncomfortable you start to pick and choose what you want to believe for reasons not based upon evidence, but emotion.

Of course, if their arguments were anything like the arguments I bring up then the answer is a lot more complex than that because you have to compare and contrast the nervous systems of vertebrates and invertebrates.

you skipped a part about how feeding rodents to there inverts is for food not fun and that is different then taking two animals out of there cages and dropping the one in front of the other several times till one or the other claws stings or bite the other... that was for pleasure no food.. theres a difference

i dont view a rodent more then i do a roach or cricket for a feeder option more then the fact it will keep the invert fed longer.

my problem with these movies is the fact they dont want to fight each other but are pretty much forced to by putting htem in a small encloser or becosue the get dragged back into place, it would be different if the came apon each other in the wild caus both would prolly just run away if they didnt ant to come near each other or one would ambush the other but like i said there forced into doing this

In my opinion, even though mice are mammals with higher intelligence, tarantulas outlive them by many years. This makes them more important to me.. Oh and obviously I have an unusual passion for Ts, probably much like other people here do.

And I don't have any scorpions, and I am still getting warmed up to the idea of owning them, but I still value their lives.

That's pretty much right, i was trying to be subtle about it..
At work, there are tons of spiders (not IDed by me though) living communally making tons of sacs outside near the dumpster. Whenever a co-worker spots one, they say Kill it! and then I scare them by grabbing the spider in my hand and letting it go. Most of them were MMs and after explaining this to them, they really didn't understand. And I think they have a perspective of me as the weird spider guy..

Oh well, screw them!

Welcome to America. No ones gives a care about animals (exotics animals : t's, snakes, scorpions and so on) except for the owners and the people who actually care which is about 2/5 the population if that . All they care about is their dogs and cats which is cool and all but would they deep fry a cat? or put a dog up against a cat just for giggles? That is like putting 7 year old child up against a bear....... People in general are too worried about what others think and show off and do stupid things just for a quick laugh and to be "cool". We all have been there. Things like this though are completely rediculous. I am suprised PETA hasnt been on Youtube to see all of this mess. If you notice though all you hear about is mamals that they try and save, not snakes or t's or anything else withought "fur", which makes me question if they would do anything about it.

PETA dosent care about bugs, only animals who's deaths serve a purpose, like chickens, cattle and minks...
