I wanted to post something that I felt important for everyone to know. I was on youtube searching for Rose-Hair Tarantulas and I came across a video that seriously made me cry. It was one of the more disturbing things I've seen on YouTube concerning a rose-hair being abused by its owner and let me just say that I'm not nieve and I know people will abuse animals but just seeing on video was hurtful to me and offensive. I honestly don't understand why people will buy these living things and abuse them for their own enjoyment.

I only had my rose-hair for 2 days and I've already bonded with it.

I'll post a link to the video for those wanting to see what I'm talking about. Basically the video has the owner placing the rosie against a scorpion and I think the scorpion ends up injuring the T. while the people watching are laughing and getting all excited over it. Yes, it is very appalling to see videos like these. And yes, there are plenty more on there. I even saw one, "Centipede vs Scorpion vs Tarantula" The centipede kills the scorpion, and then the T killed the pede.. It was pretty disturbing.

And no comments won't help, in fact it probably wasn't his pet, he most likely picked up the rosie for 15 bucks at petco to have something to do..
I just ignore these people and their videos and pretend I never saw them.. Because we can't stop what they do.

And for future reference, you need to take the code after the v= in the youtube link, and insert it into the YouTube tags.

Yes, it's horrible and yes it's cruel but making threats whether veiled or explicit over the internet does nothing to help the situation and neither does posting profanity laden tirades under the video.

Simply posting comments won't do anything other than encourage further behavior that results in similar incidents. They're doing it to be offensive and get a rise out of people.

You're giving them what they want and as long as you play to that field, they're going to keep doing this stuff.

It's absolutely sickening, it's one of the unfortunate sides of the internet, i get the feeling that a lot of the abuse is for show, if there wasnt a camera there people wouldnt be doing it.

I also think, if someone will do that to an animal, what will they do to a child?

Well, all that says to me is this world really is as sick and depraved as I thought it to be. If someone can get their jollies out of abusing something that doesn't have a choice in the matter and never asked to be put there...just...grr. When you buy an animal or have a child for that matter, it is your responsibility to make sure it has everything it needs in this world to survive. It didn't ask you to bring it to your home, it didn't have any decision as to its fate. When you put something's life into your own hands you have a duty to make sure it has what it needs to be comfortable. I know there's nothing we can do about people that choose to put living things into their destructive, unworthy hands...I guess that's why I don't watch much TV or cruise the internet a whole lot. It just breaks my heart to watch or hear about people doing such senseless things. I suppose the one thing that brings me a shred of hope is knowing the people on here (well, most of us anyway) do have consideration for the animals that we chose to put into our care. At least that's one glimmer of hope for the butt that is humanity...

Welcome to America. No ones gives a care about animals (exotics animals : t's, snakes, scorpions and so on) except for the owners and the people who actually care which is about 2/5 the population if that . All they care about is their dogs and cats which is cool and all but would they deep fry a cat? or put a dog up against a cat just for giggles? That is like putting 7 year old child up against a bear....... People in general are too worried about what others think and show off and do stupid things just for a quick laugh and to be "cool". We all have been there. Things like this though are completely rediculous. I am suprised PETA hasnt been on Youtube to see all of this mess. If you notice though all you hear about is mamals that they try and save, not snakes or t's or anything else withought "fur", which makes me question if they would do anything about it.

The remix video is by a different author and in the comments he says he is from Rome. Then someone asked him to do a match between the scorpion and an L. parahybana. He's actually going to look for one of those and do it if it is cheap.

I couldn't click the link, the thought of such things makes me sad. If you're feeding your pet, that's fine, it's the "circle of life" and all, though even feeding crickets/mice/etc. and the like to tarantulas and snakes makes me sad, but I realize that it's absolutely necessary and simply has to be done, even though I'd never directly harm a cricket or any animal for that matter myself.

However, if you're simply "fiGhTing" two animals for entertainment then that's just unnecessary and completely stupid in my opinion, and really says a lot about one's character as well. Besides, I personally don't see the point in looking at something in the first place if it will just make you sad/angry though sometimes it can't be avoided. Because Grammostola rosea/Rose hair tarantulas and many other great pets are inexpensive however, stuff like this actually happens more often than you may think, unfortunately.

However, not much can be done about it unfortunately. It's really not worth posting comments(especially stupid, illogical, overly biased, and illiterate ones) on youtube, or anywhere else, both on the net or in real life to try and speak some common sense and rationale into people, most of them are hopelessly stupid and stubborn, unable to see past how they've been raised and/or their own ridiculous arbitrary standards and ideals, seems like nothing can change it.

The people on youtube are retarded though, seriously... but then again, your average person in general is retarded. I mean the average IQ score is only around 100 or so, quite sad to me, though I realize that the majority of the population probably has a score somewhere around there, so I won't say anymore concerning that. My point is that people are simply hopeless though, our arrogance and lack of respect for others will be our very demise one day. This is one of many reasons why I despise and ignore people almost entirely. You should really just try and ignore it, as hard as that can be at times.
