Are my heat pads safe?

I have two T’s one of which I’ve had over a year now. I’m getting ready to rehouse them, and I recently learned that heat mats can be dangerous. My house is typically 68-70F but during the night it can drop 2-3 degrees or more if I have my window open. Currently they both have a mini Zoomed heater stuck to the side of their enclosures, which is only 4 watts. They both used to hang out near them but not excessively, but one just molted and she’s been next to it for the past few days. The other is known to rarely hang onto the side that the heater is on (not high of course, usually still has a leg or 2 on the ground). Should I keep using the heaters when I rehouse them or should I ditch them?

Its best to get a oil filled space heater for the room instead of using heat mats. No fuss, no muss. My temp in the living room where I keep my T's is about 70-75 degrees. Cooler temps at night will not cause harm as long as it warms-up during the day. It also depends on what species you have. I have turned the heat off in my place at this time until fall.

Ditch them.

Yes they are dangerous generally as most people don't use them correctly. I usually run 68-75, no issues, never used heat pad, never will.
