Ok so I was collecting isopods to start a lil colony and came across what I believe to be a young devils coach horse I was just wondering if anyone has experience with these as I'd be interested in housing it as they are pretty impressive as adults in terms of looks and aggression sooooooo anyone got any tips?

Thanks Jay

I have.

I kept it in a plastic box with a soil mix in the bottom, some moss, and some wood and rocks for cover.

I did not provide a water dish, but I misted the tank a few times a week. I ate mealworms and crickets with gusto, and would probably like slugs and caterpillars too.

I'd be curious to see a photo of the larval form. The adults feed nicely on small crickets or other bugs. It does help if you give the feeder bug a little pinch sometimes. Well, I suppose they might go for woodlice in thin times. They don't seem to mind being indoors. Nice find!

Thanks for the info guys much appreciated I would take pics of it but it's rather small and my camera is poor (iPod) If u look on google images search devils coach horse larvae its the same as picture on the top left 1st page.

At the moment I have it a plastic container 2-3 inches sub few hiding spots paired up with wood lice as I read thats their natural diet along with worms slugs and snails I got a few lil worms n put them in the container too but slugs n snails make too much mess lol and my crickets for my T's are too large for it

Wow, I've never seen one of those before...
Hardy little eater isn't it.
Oh, that's why I've never seen one before... you're in England! (Konks myself on head now.)
I just looked up a picture of an adult beetle, that is one impressive insect, now I really wish I could see one for myself, LOL!
Take care of him and can't wait to see how it turns out.
Be Well and God Bless,
Mamata

If I recall, there is an established population around San Francisco and I know I've seen them here in WA state. At first I thought it was your garden variety rove beetle, but it was much larger than the usual roves.
