On another note, any more abnormal behavior from your corn?

Oooo that last one on the branches!💗💗 so pretty! And the Albino makes my corn look like an earthworm!🤣
The one on the branches is a coastal carpet python. Both she and the albino still have a lot of growing to do!

Here are my kiddos, baby black rat snakes, another criminally underrated species. Both will be solid black when they mature.
Here's the male:

Here is his sister:

I keep one in a bioactive setup, the male got butthurt about being in a bioactive setup and went off feed till I put him back in his minimalist setup, now he's happy as a clam

Female's setup, she has full spectrum lighting as well.

Heatlight is currently off.
She is a food hound at all times.

The males setup. Minimalist but it is what he wanted.

Immediately started eating again once in this setup vs a similar setup that his sister had.

I'm currently on the watch for potential mates for them as I want to breed them, and keep their bloodline strong. Obviously I'm not breeding them with each other we aren't in middle age Europe anymore. :p

Is snake incest a big a no no? I’m not well versed in breeding snakes so don’t know if it’s like what happens to humans, or dogs if you inbreed them?
Will they loose their belly patterns as well once matured? I think an all black snake would look so cool!
Interesting to see how the 2 siblings like a completely different set up. I would have thought the female would be more inclined to throw a tantrum if her surroundings changed more than a male🤔
Thanks for sharing anyway! Love to see the different ways people keep their danger noodles.

It depends.
If its done for the sake of it, its not ideal.
Pairing siblings/parent x offspring is used in line breeding, rarely kept species and breeding morphs with recessive genes.
It shouldn't be done endlessly though, you do need to introduce new bloodlines every few generations.
Otherwise, you should make the effort to find unrelated animals to pair with.
