Any beginner tips? (Recently got an African Whip-Tailed scorpion)

Today I went to an expo and got myself a Whip scorpion! Does anyone have any beginner tips/things i should know? I know the basics (feeding, housing, lifespan, length) but i was wondering if there's anything else i should look out for. Thank you!

Amblypygi is the order i think

Okay, let's start with a vocabulary lesson so we can be sure what we're talking about:

"Whip-tailed scorpion" = "vinegaroon" = Thelyphonida = NOT a scorpion
"Tailless whip scorpion" = "whip spider" = Amblypygi = NOT a scorpion (also not a spider)

Care is VERY different for these two orders, and can be different even between different species of these two orders.

If you have a vinegaroon, then you have a burrowing animal that needs some deep soil (moisture level I think can vary between species).
If you have an amblypygi, then you have an arboreal animal that needs vertical and/or diagonal surfaces for climbing, and a fairly moist enclosure without too much ventilation. Again, moisture level will vary from species to species.

My suggestion is to take photos of your animal and whatever enclosure you have set up now, and post a new thread in the correct subforum (https://arachnoboards.com/forums/other-spiders-arachnids.12/). Then, we can identify your species and give you specific information to help you take care of it.
